Anyway to start off
Got some nice new shiny computer parts to replace parts off my 6 year old Athlon XP PC that died a smelly burning death over the week.
Sorry no pics because i didn't think of taking any before installing
So out comes the 1.3Ghz Athlon chip and MSI Motherboard
And in goes this beast
-Phenom II X2 550
-Asus M4A785TD-V Evo
-2 GB DDR3 Kingston
Everything else is being donated from the old computer since the other components were fairly new, from being replaced for other component failures.
Not the fanciest system out there but for $290 Aus, who can complain

Also got another 1TB Seagate Drive for my HTPC server, was going to get a Samsung F3 but they didn't have any stock and i was running out of space fast.
This now pushes my Server to something close 5TB in total

what internet do you use?
i use optus and i only get 60gigs per month. so having TB hds is pointless for me.

i'm on iinet so i get bit more useful 160GB a month
Obviously i do pay through the nose for this benefit but it makes economical sense when borrowing 3 Korean Tapes is something like $5, whereas i can get the same 9hrs worth of content for $3 plus the i get higher quality videos and the INTERNET!

Since thanksgiving.

• 1.5TB Samsung F2 drive for storage (drive dedicated to kdramas). Another one on the way.
• Extra long IDE cable for my computer's older hard drives.
• 2 x SEAS Prestige P21RF/P (H511) 8" Poly Cone (LF drivers for new speakers)
• 2 x North Creek D28 Tweeters.
• Various crossover components and wire for speakers, inc capacitors, inductors, resisters, nuts and bolts, MDF, etc.
• New clamps, including some nice 90 degree clamps.
• Jasper Jig circle cutting jig for my router.
• Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster.

Not a new purchase per say...
But did get a new internet plan upgrade for free
An extra 20GBs a month

I am so spoiled. :P

Figured.....i hate Australia sometimes.....180GBs isn't a lot compared to elsewhere

Bigpond cable has 200gb plans now @ 30mb/5mb speed.

I think its around $200/month.

If you have $$, go for it :)

I'm just content with 60gigs @ $90/month (well, not happy but can't find any better)

It's actually $179.95 not including phone.
I pay $169.95 with phone so i don't think the extra 20GBs is worth the extra $30 and moving to Hell$tra
Not to mention they count uploads aswell which is worse than the monetary issues

They have been constantly rated one of the worst ISP for several years in value and service.
I used to have Bigpond because i had no other choice and it really was an expensive lump of cow excrement

You can see reliability is fine but when you are counting uploads it really destroys a lot of the value
